The Front Page

We have to look back to decide,
To see who has been in our side,
just to make sure we do no wrong this time,
that the one we follow is right.

A daughter smiles to his Dad,
to tell him she is alright,
that right now she won’t be dead,
just a little bit sick of these lies.

Because ‘truth to be told’ is just a line,
nothing that should be fulfilled.

Oh, would you be someone else this time,
if I told you you’d be in the front page next time?
If you had a fame in your life,
why couldn’t you try to sacrifice,
just a little, for the headline,
in their front page.

We have to stop pretending right now,
‘Cause I have lost many things I know,
and you, you have taken it all from me, oh
through your mourning night.

A queen kisses her King goodnight,
‘Cause she won’t stay tonight
leaving him nothing to track out,
neither on the ground, nor in the air of world.

Because ‘truth to be told’ is just a line,
nothing that has to be fulfilled.

Oh, would you be someone else this time,
if I told you you’d be in the front page next time?
If you were God in your life time,
why’d you ask me to help you build
the world you knew they wouldn’t write,
in their front page.

Oh, will you be, ever be, someone else now,
if I tell you that I love you more than you could have known?
But if you really have that heart,
why do you have to ask for mine,
just to be hurt, and be neglected,
in the front page.

We’re not the headline,
we’re not the in the front page.
